They're Engaged!

My cousin Matt proposed to his girlfriend last week in Korea!! The two are getting married November 9th, in Seoul. I so wish I could attend this wedding...but I hear wedding's in Korea are not that romantic. I guess I will just look forward to the US reception...

The long awaited wedding finally happened!
And there were many noteable things about this day.
For one, the sky was blue: The flower girls, charming:
The groom, anxious: The bridesmaids, standing pretty:

The bride, unknowing (that her groom was about to serenade her down the aisle): The officiants, captivating: The family, numerous:
The cake, untouched (Porto's was a bigger hit!):
The reception, packed:
The refreshment table, refreshing (tea spritzers & Izze drinks):
The coordinators, occupied:
The couple, now wedded:
The photo booth, a smashing hit:

The flowers, spontaneously given:
The afterparty, entertaining:

The karaoke score? A perfect 100:

Whew! (When this wedding was over, both Kange & I were so exhausted we called in sick the next day.) I had never been to an afterparty before so I didn't know what to expect. But considering the activity du jour was KARAOKE, we had little difficulty figuring out how to keep ourselves busy. In fact, I sang myself hoarse late into the night and, in the end, was the most fun I have ever had at a wedding. SO. MUCH. FUN. double exclamation!!

I knew I was in trouble when I started missing my husband before he even left for his mission trip.

So...I decided to take a little impromptu trip myself. It didn't hurt to have a friend @ Southwest who said "just come to the airport and I'll print out a ticket for you to go wherever you want." really? woohoo!!

I flew to Portland for about 40 hours, to spend some quality time with my mom. On Sunday, we revisited Portland's rose garden ...and they were all in full bloom!
I didn't see all the Portland faces I wanted to, but I got to see my niece "C" twice. Gohmoh loves you, little C!!

Lee Wedding

It's officially wedding season! We celebrated the wedding of James & Patty last weekend. The groom & I go way back to our '98 Kayamm days, when we went to the Philippines together. I could not get ONE good picture of the wedding, but here we are at the reception:

The next wedding is in just over 2 weeks! It's been a long LONG engagement, & I'm so excited to see our 2 friends Jullie & Ben finally get married!

(In Chicago last year. We slept like this. We have that kind of relationship.)

Blog Much?

This blog is turning into a monthly newletter. What an awful blogger I am. I think I'll try things "danster style" this time & do a numerical update=).

1. Our whole church drove out to the Grand Canyon for Memorial weekend! Think 200 Koreans in rented Haebaragi charter buses. My little group left in a 25-seater bus, driven by Joey, that took us about 9 hours to get there. But it was worth it, to experience the Grand Canyon. And I was especially looking forward to seeing our little niece, B:

I wanted to sit & stare into the canyon for a few more hours, but we only had a moment to spare before we had to head back up the 1.5 mile hike.

2. I attended the bridal shower of my friend J. The food was spectacular, most of it cooked by the one male guest in attendance, the "bride's man".

4. My sister moved to NY. Brooklyn, to be exact. I felt a tinge maternal as I packed up the last of her things. Then shed a few unexpected tears. It was hard to say goodbye...I'll be seeing you soon sister.
