Aloha!

Let's just pretend that it hasn't been 6 months since my last post...:)

For my sister's 30th birthday, we flew to Honolulu for 6 days.

Our lovely hotel, Trump Waikiki. They exceeded all my expectations:
Greeted with cold towels and drinks
Coloring books, crayons, and a stuffed animal for Becca

Cake pops for kids, Hawaiian cookies for adults
First stop, Marukame for udon & tempura

Leonard's for malasadas, Portuguese donuts

Waiting for banana nut, macadamia sauce pancakes
Someone was cranky & tired for much of this trip, and didn't like the time change.

We made it to Kailua

The most peaceful times were just hanging out in the hotel room, watching Disney movies like Horton Hears a Who
Pool Days

Jimbo's for Oyakodon & Udon/Soba
Fell asleep during the line for shave ice.
Met up with Maile & Jane again

One of many days at the pool

Birthday dinner @ Alan Wong's. Such service!

We waited like this for 1 hour for the rental car. Drove another 30 minutes--to discover that Hanauma Bay was closed that day=(.
So we went to this lookout point, Lana'i

And stopped by Bubbies. Wow, these are delicious. Strawberry mochi with chocolate ice cream inside.
Someone was throwing a huge tantrum. So the owner @ Bubbies gave her an ice cream cone with sprinkles. Yes, that's exactly what I try to teach my child: tantrum = ice cream cone. Haha. Actually, we were thankful that he was so nice to us:).
Headed back to Ala Moana
Did a little shopping. Watched Koi.
 Brunch @ Halekulani

Waikiki
Hotel Lobby
Spotted a rainbow on the last day!
Henry's Place, which serves every local flavor of ice cream.
Hula Dog hot dogs...

I walked around by myself on the last night, enjoying the last few moments in Honolulu and the night breeze. Discovered the most amazing kimchee bokeum bbap at a Japanese ramen place, of all places.
Aloha Honolulu. We were so sad to leave you.

A big thanks to my mom, who flew down from Portland to watch Amelia

So happy to come home to her. After a couple days, she was looking for me and calling for mommy. I won't ever leave for a week again baby!!
