Happy 2 Year Anniversary honey!!
So here's the abridged story of "us". We met my Freshman year in college.
But didn't start dating until 5 years later, when we both found ourselves living in LA. Joey was excited that I had decided to go to USC, but didn't quite know why. 
We've had alot of fun along the way. Here we are at a wedding.

Four years later, Joey left for Andrews all by himself. Boy was I steamed! If you are my friend, you know why:).
But he made everything OK when he flew back the following month and proposed. He chose this bridge to replicate a scene from the Anne of Green Gables movie. Joey turned the proposal into a production, and I couldn't even squeeze out a tear. (I was too much in shock!!)
Then we booked an amazing photographer, Taek, who took our engagement & wedding photos. We planned the wedding in 5 1/2 months. Boy, was it a hectic time.
We got married on December 17, 2006. It was a chilly day, but everything went off without a hitch!

We flew to Cancun, Mexico for our honeymoon, where we stayed in a fantastic hotel.
In 2007 we got to travel a little. New York, in May.
Our first trip overseas, to Greece, in August. We had ALOT of struggles on this first international trip of ours, but we learned alot about each other. ha!

Looking back at the photo from our college days, I NEVER would have guessed two college 'buddies' would have ended up married. I know, many of you predicted this to happen (Son, Andy, Lionel). But I denied it for 5 years:). And then in 2002, everything just fell into place. And now, 6 years later, we're as happy as can be. And expecting a baby! I thank God for all the blessings he's given to us, and for the eternal relationship that we have. I love you, bear.
How the pregnancy's been affecting us so far:~Today I missed church. I wasn't sick. Just extremely exhausted. Even after 11 hours of sleep, I took a 1-hour nap in the afternoon. The pregnancy books describe it well--feels like you've just run a marathon, when you haven't done anything at all. It makes me feel lazy, until I remember that my body is manufacturing a baby and a placenta. Herculean tasks.~I now know why the term "morning sickness" is a misnomer. Who coined this incorrect term? A man? Well, I've been nauseated &/or dizzy for about 3 weeks now. Saltines help, and so do preggo pops. Lately, I've also been using motion sickness bands--I don't know if it's working as a placebo, but I think they are helping. I've only thrown up once, after eating a burrito. Baby doesn't like Mexican food.~I've been craving Italian food. And bread. And PIZZA like there's no tomorrow. Normally, I don't care much for these foods. I've only gained 1 pound so far; I don't know where all the pizza-weight is going.~I've started journaling, old-fashioned-style, again. (Also explains why this blog has been neglected.) Several entries a week, writing down my thoughts, "mood check" of the day, relevant current events (Obama), etc. Maybe one day I will share it with my child.~Joey's been compensating for the pregnancy too. One, he's been quietly taking over many of the chores -- washing dishes, doing laundry, making the bed, all the while continuing his chores. I never even asked him to. Two, he claims to have put on 5 pounds since the pregnancy. Talk about pregnancy empathy. Three, he's been craving Saltines. He bought me a 4-pack the other day, and one day I go looking for the Saltines (stomach acid making an ugly appearance that morning), and THERE ARE NONE LEFT. The man has eaten 3 packs all by himself. ARRGH!! Never take a pregnant woman's Saltines!!~Thank you for all your emails & notes of congratulations. We are blessed to have so many supportive friends and family. I look forward to getting lots of parenting tips from all of you!!
So we had our first prenatal visit on Friday (we're pregnant for anyone who doesn't know already!). During the ultrasound, (because I'm kinda in denial), I half-expected my doctor to say, "Hmm, I don't see anything. Guess you're not pregnant." And I would have said, "Oh, okay", and just gone home. So it was shocking to see this little object on the screen, see the arms and legs moving ferociously, and hear the heart beat. Definitely a sweet moment for the hubby & me. The picture reminded me of a little primate. Is it just me? You have to use your imagination & picture it laying on its side=).
This year for Thanksgiving the whole Oh clan gathered in Redding, CA to celebrate Grandma Oh's 90th birthday party. Grandma Oh had had a health scare a few months ago, when she had heart failure and had to remain in the hospital for a few days. We all hoped and prayed she would make it to celebrate with all her grandkids and greatgrandkids. Miraculously, her health improved greatly, and she was all smiles all week, even maintaining daily exercise and bible study. It's what I was most thankful for this Thanksgiving, to see her again and spend time with her. Grandma, I'm thankful for you!***Our festivities started on Wednesday evening, when we arrived in Redding:

Somehow, I've always had a little luck on my side. In '05 I attended a Prospective Student Weekend at Fuller Seminary. They had a gift giveaway, and the grand prize was an Ipod shuffle. I had this hyperintuitive feeling right before they called the number, and sure enough--I won an Ipod that day. Last Monday, I played Bingo at work. It's played bimonthly (or so) and based on work-related injuries. If no one gets injured, the pot goes up. The pot is paid in cash, and sure enough--I won $200 that day.Well, I figured that, with this bit of luck handed to me, I would pay it forward. I'd like to do something memorable, something finite with this money. I welcome all suggestions for how to spend this money, that will profit someone else in a specific way. Please help me to "pay it forward."
Hello Friends. How have you been? Let me backtrack a little, since I'm so behind! This summer was a busy one. Joey was gone frequently on trips with church and other pastor-related events. He visited Costa Rica for a mission trip, NorCal for PUC Campmeeting, and my hometown in Portland, OR for a pastor's conference. I missed my husband alot! It's all been a learning curve, in figuring out my role(s) and identity as a pastor's wife this year. I know I spent some fruitless time running away from the title 'sahmohnim', the way Jonah did with Ninevah. Recently, however, I've been very thankful for the Peace that God has provided me. I think it involves praying more--ALOT more, and accepting that (no matter my shortcomings) we are called to this life for a reason. Well, without further ado, here's a photo update of summer & autumn!****1) This weekend, the Kims threw a big bash for Megan's 3rd birthday.

2) Southern California Softball Tournament. We came in 3rd place this year! woohoo!

5) We reinstated 'date night' and ventured out to try a new restaurant, Chandra Thai. (Is this your favorite Thai place Jean? I can't remember. The red curry was good!)
We ran into a fun activity, Yoko Ono's Wish Trees. You write your wishes down, tie them to a tree, which will then be transported to Reykjavik, Iceland as a memorium of John Lennon's birthday. What would your wish be?
6) My sister visited from NY. We did the usual girly things, discovered some gems at the Citadel Outlets (who knew?), did a run to Grand Spa for the ddeh massage, and ate lunch at the Milk shop:

7) One of many church activities, to Malibu Creek State Park, where they filmed M*A*S*H. We did a short & easy hike there:
8) Went to my first Dodger game, with front row seats. Exciting moments: Manny's first home run, first Dodger dog, and nearly catching Casey Blake's home run ball. Arthur was so sad that he had left his mitt at church...
9) Joey turned the big 3-0 this summer. We went to watch Wicked again:

Glinda, the redhead! She was the 'Glinda' in Chicago when we saw it back in December. We liked her performance the first time, so it was doubly fun this time around.
10) My cousins John & Sonia came to visit, while Joey was gone. We did our usual run to the favored Yogurtland. This place is only 30 cents/ounce, and self-serve, so we're here about 1x/week. Come visit us in LA, & we'll take you!
