Over the river and through the woods...

Rebecca & Great Grandma, Thanksgiving 2009
We're headed to Redding in T-8 hours, to go and visit Joey's 92-year-old grandmother. Tomorrow is also the birthday of my mom and Joey's mom. Short story--Joey grew up thinking his mom's birthday was 2/14, and I grew up thinking my mom's birthday was 3/10. The 2 moms got to talking several years ago...and discovered that (due to some mis-recordings and lunar calendar) they are actually exactly the same age, born on 2/20/50 (and yes, they think it's fate that we met each other)! Lots to celebrate this weekend...see you on the other side!

Perfect Day

Some years I am not really into the whole birthday celebration thing. And 32 is not a big milestone year.

But this year, with my test behind me, I plan on celebrating throughout the month of February. Heehee. It started with Brunch at Mike & Anne's, which is coincidentally Korean-owned. Brunch is my favorite meal, and it's up the street from our house. Love it there!

Followed the day with old-fashioned ice cream parlour, spa mani/pedis with my sister-in-law, and homemade pizza @ our friends' Jullie & Ben's new house on the Westside. A perfect bday.

But what I am most thankful for this month, is my husband. He sacrificed his time & sleep so that I could study. He made me breakfast in bed the day of. He reminded me to have family worship together. He didn't complain when I was in test-stress-mode. He skipped meals bc I was hardly cooking. Well, it's all over, and I will make it up to you hunny!!!!!

February Update

I'm back! It feels like such a long hiatus from blogging.

I spent January hibernating @ Starbuck's & Border's studying for my licensing exam. Somehow, with Joey's help, I was able to fit in 12+ hours a week studying...and I passed my test! I honestly didn't expect to pass. It's part 1 of 2, so I have one more to go, but I'm going to take a break!

Becca at 19 months is the BEST stage yet. Some of her more memorable sayings:

"Good night uncle Ben". She used to be a hater, but is now a lover. Uncle Ben is happy.

"Mommy is eating/cooking/sleeping."

"Ee ee is coming". (Ee ee = aunt in Mandarin.)

"Peas, thankyou." (Please.)

"I ludoo." (I love you.)

I'm now 31 weeks pregnant....and weighing as more than I did when I was 40 weeks last time around. I realize how fortunate it was to gain ~28lbs the first time around. I am feeling so heavy. My Obgyn has given me the option of going out early...and I'm seriously considering it!

I gave R her first haircut. It was a disaster. Haha. People have literally asked me if I used a bowl on her head. Ah, well. Every child needs a bad haircut story, right?

Seems that 2011 is the year for babies...my cousin Matt & Estar just had a baby girl in January, cousin John is expecting a boy in April (like us), my friend Vania is expecting a boy in June, and my cousin Eunice is expecting twins in August. Go Rabbits!!
