Seattle Bound

One of my nearest & dearest, Vania, is due to give birth in just a few weeks! I haven't seen her since my wedding in '06, so I'm EXTREMELY EXCITED to be heading to Seattle today for her baby shower.

Life as we know it is about to change forever, isn't it?

The End is Near

The end of my life as a SAHW, stay-at-home-wife, that is. Hehe. I've been enjoying my time off, but it's time to get back to work! Thank you husband for being our breadwinner for the last 6 months.....I will sway the balances soon, I promise.

After 2-3 weeks of job hunting, my biggest wish/prayer request/DEMAND was that it was close to home. My last job in LA averaged 15+ hours of driving/per week. However, beggars can't be choosers. Especially in LA.

So, I knew it would be asking alot to pretty-pretty-please find jobs that were 30-minutes-with-traffic. But of the 6 or so interviews that have been scheduled, ALL OF THEM fit my mileage requirements.

It's my answer to prayer. AND I AM SO HAPPY.

Even better, I've finally hit my stride. For the longest time, as a new intern, I would leave job interviews with the feeling that I wouldn't get a callback. And I was usually right. Comes with the territory for entry-level positions, I suppose. However, these recent interviews have been going so well, & I'm getting positive feedback. So I wondered, what's changed?

I guess the biggest difference is that I AM NOW CLOSE TO 3000. Three thousand hours, that is. I'm almost done with my Intern hours....keeping my eye on the light @ the end of the tunnel.... on my way to finally taking my boards & getting licensed. Okay, I'm counting my chicks a little early..... but I'm defintely EXCITED.

Too bad my days as a SAHW are numbered.

Rock Climbing

I hate exercise. I really do. Even knowing it's good for me isn't enough sometimes. But this weekend we did something really fun. We went rock climbing @ rockcityclimbing in Anaheim. And according to fityday.com, I burned 590 calories per hour of exercise. Woohoo!! I've got the sore forearms to prove it...

(p.s. does anyone on blogger know how i can post text first, pictures second? it doesn't let me do this.)

'Green' Totes

I have been the lucky recipient of many housewarming gifts recently. One of my favorite items has been these canvas & cotton totes. I use them for schlepping my groceries around in in place of plastic bags. They're not only good for the environment, but I get change back each time I use them @ my local grocer! (Check http://www.grasstotes.com/ for bags on left; my sister got the Portland tote from http://www.maptote.com/.)

Welcome

Welcome to our new blog home!

I'm not as fond of blogger though. Typepad had many options that I got accustomed to. oh well. Blogger is free!

To my 4 readers who missed me (gina, son, jooree, kange), there is not much new to report. I had a very bad flu, going on almost 2 weeks now. I must mention the wonderful job my husband did of taking care of me though. He rented me videos, bought me magazines, took care of ALL the meals, did my chores, made me kkong-nahmool gook, bought me tulips on V day, & even watched Anne of Green Gables with me. He asked me repeatedly throughout the day if I needed anything, & never once got impatient or frustrated w/me.

I almost didn't want to get better. j/k hubby! I know he's an amazing husband, but being sick reminded me of that all over again... I love my husband.
