Rebecca's Dohl

Our baby turned one on June 29. That just blows me away. There is probably no other one-year period that will alter my life as much as this past year did.

So here it is, from the beginning. Rebecca's dohl. I don't remember spending half this much time on my own wedding reception. Sheesh.

I do remember that she came in full-party mode: well fed, and well slept. Thanks to grandmas & grandpa.

The family gathered from all over: NYC, SF, Portland, Redding

This video's for you baby. Maybe one day in the future, when you're 17 and we've just had a huge fight, I will pull it out and remind myself of simpler times. Happy birthday, baby girl.(Beware, it's 10 minutes long!)

Sobering

This is very sad. 6 weeks and counting. Fines currently estimated at 4-6 Billion dollars.

Weekday in a Life

Starbucks oatmeal w/brown sugar, walnuts, & dried fruit. Tall vanilla latte w/soy milk.

7 am: wake up & feed baby. we take turns. get her dressed & ready for school (day care).

8 am: get ready for work. don't forget the baby! take her to school (0.5 miles). stop by starbucks if i haven't had breakfast at home. try to squeeze in some news on knx 1070.

9 am: get to work. check in. yadda yadda.

11:30 am: meet coworkers for lunch. typical school cafeteria food. but it's free & there's always a salad bar. beggars can't be choosers.

12 pm - 5:40 pm: talk to residents. run all my groups.

5:40 pm: leave for home. don't forget the baby! pick her up, if joey hasn't, & go home.

6 pm: give baby a bath. feed her. play with baby. feed her again. put her to bed.

7:30: make dinner & eat! get baby's things ready for the next day.

9 pm: free time till bedtime.

11pm: go to bed (ok, it's usually later than this). sleep 6-7 hours.
